NASA Announces Boeing and Space Crews

NASA still hasn’t decided on a spacesuit for future missions, and it’s getting kind of silly NASA Announces Boeing and Space Crews

NASA's Commercial Crew Program is partnering with Boeing and SpaceX to launch humans on USA -built spaceships from Kennedy Space Center on test flights to the space station.

However, as the Inquisitr reported earlier today, Boeing has just announced it will be delaying the entire launch schedule of its Starliner spacecrafts, aiming for a first crewed test flight in mid-2019.

NASA's schedule for Starliner flights confirmed what a Boeing executive said a day earlier: The first uncrewed mission to the station (Boeing Orbital Flight Test) would take place in late 2018 or early 2019, and the first crewed mission (Boeing Crew Flight Test) would follow five to six months later.

On Friday, the space agency plans to announce crews for the first flights of SpaceX's Crew Dragon and Boeing's CST-100 Starliner.

NASA's Commercial Crew Program, as it's called, will soon launch launch one uncrewed and two crewed test flights of each new spacecraft. The report cited safety concerns and testing delays, and warned that future delays could interrupt the access of American astronauts to the International Space Station. Starliner and Crew Dragon will dock and undock autonomously to the space station before returning the crew safely home. With all this happening you might be thinking that astronaut wardrobe is the least of NASA's concerns, but you couldn't be more wrong.

They will fly the Boeing Starliner and the SpaceX Crew Dragon.

In February, SpaceX blasted Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster into space from a Falcon Heavy rocket.

Democrats in the House and Senate also filed legislation that would in effect ban guns constructed from 3-D printed material. The blueprints for 3D printed guns have been available online for years now, mostly in the deep recesses of the dark web.

Both Boeing and SpaceX have designed their own spacesuits. "The systems will be operated in the actual environment to test it and ensure it's ready for crew".

However, the U.S. Government Accountability Office warned last month that certification delays for the two companies could, for a while, leave NASA with no way to get American astronauts onto the ISS. On Sept. 16, 2014, the agency announced that Boeing and SpaceX would share $6.8 billion to develop independent space taxis, the first new USA crewed spacecraft since the shuttle.

The setback means the first crewed test flight will be pushed back to the middle of 2019, he said. Separately, SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft for Demo-1 arrived to the Cape in July for final processing.

Expedition 54 Flight Engineer Serena Aunon, Chancellor of NASA, will monitor its departure as the spacecraft is released through ground-controlled commands.

"The crew right now is actually working on integrated crew simulations on the flight systems", said Lueders.

Mulholland said the Atlas V launch vehicle for the mission is launch-ready and should ship to Florida before the end of this year. Now, the White House wants to slash NASA's $21 billion budget - encouraging private-sector commercial activity in low Earth orbit as well as deeper forays into the solar system.
