"When we were at the military parade 81st anniversary, at the end of the event in Bolivar Avenue in Caracas, at 5:41 p.m. there was an explosion".

The attack came as Maduro celebrated the National Guard's 81st anniversary, said Rodriguez.

The broadcast showed Maduro and senior officials standing nearby in the government box peering into the skies before the video cuts off abruptly to show troops, lined up in parade order, breake rank and scatter from the scene.

During the incident, Maduro was speaking about Venezuela's economy in an address when audio of the live television coverage was suddenly cut off. There is no official word yet as to what occurred.

Maduro is a former bus driver who rose up through trade unions and served under President Hugo Chavez, assuming power after his death in 2013 and consolidating it in a special election. "Investigations show clearly that flying artifacts or drones containing explosive material exploded near the presidential stage".

Jose Mourinho: I wouldn’t have paid to watch this United team
He said: "I know Real Madrid would feel the same and would like to have here a world champion like (Raphael) Varane". Serbian Matic has not featured in any pre-season games, including Saturday's 4-1 friendly defeat by Liverpool .

But, the wire service adds, firefighters at the site of the explosion are disputing the government's account of what it called an "attack".

However, Rodriguez said seven soldiers were injured in what he described as an attempt on Maduro's life.

Last year, a rogue Venezuelan police officer hijacked a helicopter and fired at government buildings in what he said was an action against a dictator.

The group says that while it was not successful at first, it's just a matter of time before it is. Soldiers at the military parade were then seen running away from an unconfirmed occurrence before the transmission was cut.

He characterized it as an attack aimed at the embattled president, who was recently elected to a new term in office despite a crippling economic and humanitarian crisis.
