Giants Waive Former 1st-Round Pick Ereck Flowers

Report: Giants place OT Flowers on trade block, may cut Reports: Giants To Release Or Trade Ereck Flowers By Tuesday

Ereck Flowers' time as a Giant is over. "We appreciate Ereck's efforts, and we just wish him the best".

Flowers' efforts in NY, to put it simply, were bad - historically bad. The Giants attempted to move him to right tackle this season, but it didn't work. That was always unlikely with more than $1.7 million remaining on the final year of Flowers' rookie contract.

The Giants plan on releasing offensive tackle Ereck Flowers by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday if they can not find a team willing to trade for him, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Earlier Monday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Giants will release Flowers if he is not traded by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. "Sometimes a change of scenery is good".

Flowers has struggled to give the Giants any semblance of competent play ever since being selected No. 9 overall in 2015 out of Miami (FL).

U.S. military grounds entire fleet of F-35s in wake of crash
The Air Force has 156, the Marine Corps has 61 and the Navy has 28, according to data provided by the joint program office. It represents a step-change in capability but the F-35's complexity has inevitably thrown up problems.

This season, Pro Football Focus has given Flowers a grade of 53.8, which considered average by the metric's scale, yet is the 59th-ranked score among all graded offensive tackles.

Flowers started the Giants first two games of the year but was benched before they faced the Texans in Week 3. He pushed a reporter after a loss during the 2016 season.

This year did not begin well for Flowers under the new regime led by general manager Dave Gettleman.

Chad Wheeler has since replaced Flowers in the starting lineup. The Giants could promote tackle Brian Mihalik from the practice squad to serve as an emergency swing tackle with center/guard Spencer Pulley serving as an extra lineman and jumbo tight end in sub packages.
