Danvers is an ace military pilot who gets caught up in an intergalactic battle between two species, resulting in her being gifted with extraordinary super-powers.

And yet, her memories are faint. "We made you one of us".

We don't know the extent to which DeConnick consulted on the film, but I'm sure it's on more than a few costume choices.

According to Larson, Danvers isn't the only strong female lead in the film or in the actor's life.

The New 'Captain Marvel' Trailer Is Here And It's Insane

The 1990s-set film features the Oscar victor as fighter pilot-turned-superhero Carol Danvers - the first female Marvel superhero to get her own standalone movie. Both characters were also turned to ashes in Infinity War. In comics, Carol heads off into space to run the Alpha Flight space station and Chewie ends up going along for the ride.

The trailer then features Annette Bening's character, Danvers' Kree mother, who reveals that Carol's real life began nearly as it ended. Vinyl Figures that are tied-in to the highly-anticipated film that features Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, the titular heroine and perhaps the most powerful character in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past.

If it's not his exasperation with the Avengers that makes Nick Fury so relatable, it's definitely his reaction to Goose (an apparent replacement for Chewie, Captain Marvel's cat in the comics). Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.

Captain Marvel will be released in United Kingdom cinemas on March 8 2019.

Captain Marvel launches on March 8, 2019, while Avengers 4 hits on May 3, 2019, followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019.
