Mercedes-Benz managed to retain its top spot in the sales charts for luxury cars in the United States in 2018, a year that saw most brands report lower sales than the previous period. Almost 150,000 were sold in the United States alone, with sales surely helped by the CLA's low price: it was originally advertised starting under $30,000.

Mercedes-Benz debuted the all-new CLA sedan at the ongoing CES 2019.

After countless spy photos and a myriad of teasers, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA has officially been revealed to the world. The smoother body helps the CLA to look more expensive than it really is, and the aerodynamics have been improved.

It is 48mm longer, 53mm wider and 2mm lower than current CLA model.

On that note, the CLA is a good 139mm longer and 7mm lower than the A-Class sedan, while riding on the same 2729mm wheelbase, and in practical terms it offers similar headroom in the front but 36mm less in the back thanks to that sloping roofline, while the boot actually swallows 40 litres more (460). There will also be a manual transmission option, as well as 4Matic all-wheel drive capability for the new CLA. This is a good thing, because we're unanimous in our opinion that the new A-Class has a vastly improved interior compared with the old CLA. Similarly, the high performance AMG models also sustained their momentum in the performance segment from previous year, particularly spear headed by the overwhelming response to the AMG E 63 S, the AMG GLE 43 Coupe and AMG GLC 43 coupe.

Tom Thibodeau Fired By Minnesota Timberwolves
Assistant coach Ryan Saunders , son of late beloved Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders , will take over as interim coach. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that Fred Hoiberg is among the main candidates for the GM and coach position.

The new CLA-Class's interior appears to be lifted right out of the A-Class, with two free-standing, monolithic screens for instrumentation and infotainment.

If the introduction of the new CLA at a technology show instead of a traditional auto show comes as a surprise, it shouldn't. In US market versions initially, the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant can apparently handle more complex queries, even something like "Which child-friendly Asian restaurants are nearby which are neither Chinese nor Japanese?", as well as complex questions about sport, share prices and so on. Mercedes-Benz have also developed a system by which MBUX only responds to the last person to have said "Hey Mercedes".

A decoupled multi-link rear axle will be offered, with active adaptive damping available as an option. The MBUX uses artificial intelligence to customize the driver's experience and can adapt to the user, Mercedes says.

In fact, the compact coupé-inspired four-door has also broken the shackles of the A-Class design idiom, no longer sharing its frontal design with the hatch that it's ultimately based on.
