Democrats Reportedly Trying to "Rein In" Ocasio-Cortez

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Quotes 'Watchmen' on Twitter 'Hypocrisy At Its Finest': Ocasio-Cortez's Campaign Fined For Failing To Carry Workers' Comp Coverage

Newly sworn-in democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has quickly become a darling on the Left, fashioning herself as the voice for the working class and the poor. "We just don't need sniping in our Democratic Caucus".

"I'm sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there's nearly an outstanding rule: Don't attack your own people", veteran Missouri Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said.

Some Ways and Means Committee Democrats said that the focus should be on holding hearings looking at the tax code following the enactment of Trump's tax law, rather than pursuing Ocasio-Cortez's idea. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.), a senior Financial Services Committee lawmaker who survived an Ocasio-Cortez-backed primary challenge previous year.

"Some moderate Democrats have privately raised concerns that they'll be targeted by the former bartender-turned-progressive icon, whose willingness to challenge her party's establishment propelled her to Congress and the national spotlight", Politico said.

"If you look at the majority of new Democrats in the House, they tend to be, I say, center-left, if they are not left-left".

Ocasio-Cortez also could be an important ally for committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters.

Fans react to Phil Masinga's passing
The South African Football Association (Safa) has confirmed that Bafana Bafana legend Phil "Chippa" Masinga has died. Legendary former Bafana Bafana striker Phil Masinga has passed away at the age of 49 after a short illness.

"In private conversations with Ocasio-Cortez over the past few months, Velázquez counseled Ocasio-Cortez against targeting her Democratic colleagues in future elections", Politico reported. "This is basic stuff, especially if you hold yourself out to be the champion of workers".

"And from a values based perspective to tax those, you know, who earn $10 million a year, I think it's exactly what we should be doing".

The New York Daily News was the first to report this.

"She's new here, feeling her way around", said Representative Kurt Schrader (D., Ore.).

"Just as congressional Republicans constantly withhold criticism of the president out of fear he'll unleash a tweet at them, some Democrats have done the same with Ocasio-Cortez", Politico reported.
