It's confirmed that the final season will premiere in 13 weeks' time with the promise of a chilling reunion between Jon Snow and Arya Stark.

The wintry wait for "Game of Thrones" isn't over, but fans at least officially know when the suspense will end.

Titled The Long Night, the show is expected to take place as much as 5,000 years before the events in Game of Thrones, meaning there will be no Targaryens or familiar locations in Westeros.

There's also a new teaser, set within the tombs at Winterfell.

Jayme Closs: authorities search for motive in 'tragic' kidnapping case
While authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the kidnapping, more details about Patterson have emerged. Patterson took such measures as shaving his head beforehand to avoid leaving evidence at the scene, the sheriff said.

One of the major draws of the season will be the reunion of Arya Stark and Jon Snow as the two haven't met each other since the first season of the show.

Another prominent part of the teaser the the feather in front of Lyanna's crypt. Despite having fewer installments, those episodes are reported to all be longer than an hour, with some possibly at "feature" length.

Last week, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it teaser clip of series 8 showed Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, appearing to have traveled to the North where she'll come face-to-face with Sansa in front of Jon.

They are greeted by Sansa Stark, who told Dany, "Winterfell is yours, Your Grace". The six-episode season will begin on April 14, 2019, so if there is no break during the season, the series finale will air sometime in May. It's not footage from within the final season but more like an original promotional ad.
