But instead of being elated by the life-changing win, Mr Campbell instead felt "sick" with worry, taking a stunning 54 days to come forward, news.com.au reports. Not an inch of Mr. Campbell was exposed - donned in a full coat, long trousers and gloves in an effort to completely hide his identity.

And a year ago, a judge in New Hampshire in the United States made history after ruling a $US560 million Powerball jackpot victor could remain anonymous after a lengthy legal battle.

"Sure enough they wrote me the one dollar cheque and had me hold it up and took the picture", Heep said. "I don't beg, I don't borrow", he said.

"I like to handle money".

The Super Lotto victor, who was identified only as A. Campbell, made a memorable appearance last week at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston to collect his prize, worth more than 158 million Jamaican dollars; but it took him 54 days to muster up the courage to do it, according to Supreme Ventures, which operates the game in the Caribbean.

It took him 54 days to collect his prize after his numbers were drawn, with lottery officials admitting they were becoming nervous given the 90-day deadline.

Determined to protect his identity, the victor collected his $1.6 million wearing a scream mask.

"I found out (I won) the same night (as buying the ticket)", he told the Jamaican Star newspaper. He plans to buy a home with some of the cash. "I love to have money".

"Wondering if what I've been longing for really come true".

The victor was only identified as A. Campbell and waited 54 days to claim the ticket.

The man won the lottery almost two months ago, but said he was sick and didn't collect the jackpot until now.

Supreme Ventures runs the lottery in several Caribbean islands. "I had a belly ache for two weeks, sometimes I feel so much pain I forgot that I had won", he said.
