Donovan Mitchell, Jazz back Russell Westbrook

Indiana Pacers' Domantas Sabonis puts up a shot against Oklahoma City Thunder's Jerami Grant during the second half of an NBA basketball game NBA: Russell Westbrook unleashes profanity-laden tirade at fan after being provoked

The Utah Jazz have issued another lifetime ban over an incident involving Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook - this time for an incident that occurred previous year, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The Utah Jazz have reportedly banned another fan for life from Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Keisel, and four other fans had been issued warning cards by security during the game for inappropriate behavior.

Gail Miller told Jazz fans to treat opposing players with respect. "I think this was the first time it actually got caught on camera, that you caught a player responding like that on camera". "Here in Utah, man, a lot of disrespectful, vulgar things are said to the players here with these fans".

Westbrook has had run-ins with fans before - and reacted calmly last month when it appeared he was touched by a child sitting courtside. Mitchell noted the incident was "not the first time something like that has happened in [their] arena".

Before and throughout Thursday's game, the Jazz periodically flashed a message across the Jumbotron screens in the arena, which stated: "No disruptive behavior".

My good friend and colleague at NBC Sports Chicago, Will Perdue, had a chance to watch Morant up close and personal while serving as an expert analyst for the national radio broadcast of the OVC tourney championship game. "I think all those things are healthy in getting all the details of everything but suffice to say that the Millers are aware and everybody's taking steps, generating ideas and plans". I was the one talking to him, but don't threaten a woman.

Now, let us be clear: we want you to be loud. The ban is based on excessive and derogatory verbal abuse directed at a player during the game that violated the NBA Code of Conduct.

Toronto was missing both Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, who is serving a three game suspension for fighting. "So this guy needs to be exposed". What the video didn't show were the disparaging comments the fan made to Westbrook before his outburst.

"He had ice or heat, I said "sit down and ice your knees, bro", and he said "that's heat, that's heat". That money isn't being raised to support the fan who allegedly made "completely disrespectful" and "racial" comments toward the Thunder guard, however.

And as of Wednesday night, the campaign - created by lifelong Jazz fan Devin Deaton of Sandy, Utah - had raised more than $9,000.

This leads to the question of how can organizations provide their fans with a great game experience, but also protect the players from unruly spectators?

The altercation sparked conversation about Utah fans' previous interactions with Westbrook, especially a video from last season's playoff series of a fan calling him "boy" before Game 4.
