In the Lion Air crash, investigators are examining the behavior of a new anti-stall system installed on the 737 MAX that led to the plane gaining and losing altitude as the pilots fought for control against the automated system.

This is the 737 Max's automatic anti-stalling system which is created to keep the plane from stalling.

Boeing is expected to finalize a software fix for that system within a week to 10 days, sources familiar with the matter said earlier on Saturday.

Boeing executives and technical experts briefed pilots at USA airlines that fly the Max in November about the plane, less than a month after the Lion Air crash.

With heightened global scrutiny, the head of Indonesia's transport safety committee said a report into the Lion Air crash would be speeded up for release in July or August.

Asked about the timeline, first reported by AFP, a Boeing spokesman referred to a statement on Monday that the upgrade would be deployed across the 737 MAX fleet in the coming weeks.

However, Aimer said, after a certain point the Ethiopian Airlines plane's fate was sealed. Experts from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and the plane's manufacturer Boeing are among those involved in the investigation.

Boeing and United States air safety regulators have been at odds over how much pilot training will be required along with the software fix, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

"It's really satisfying to come back to the one-day side and contribute but even more satisfying to get that series win". They slipped from 175-1 to 182-4, before Jhye Richardson and Cummins helped them to a score of 279.

"All airlines in the world should be well aware of the problem", Krause said.

"The similarity is in both accidents, you do have this pitching up and down of the nose".

Investigators haven't determined the cause of either crash, but Boeing would face large payouts to the families of passengers if the Max plane is found to be at fault.

Krause says other pilots around the world should have known as well.

The grounding of planes has left USA and Canadian carriers wrestling with customer calls and flight cancellations.

American Airlines canceled about 85 flights Friday because of the groundings - some scheduled for its 24 Max 8s and others on planes being used to fill in for the now-parked Max 8s.

Air Canada suspended its 2019 financial forecasts, while United Airlines said it would see an adverse effect on its operations if the jets remained grounded heading into the peak summer travel season. People of 35 nationalities were killed in the crash. The United States and many other countries have grounded the Max 8s as the US -based company faces the challenge of proving the jets are safe to fly amid suspicions that faulty sensors and software contributed to the two crashes that killed 346 people in less than six months.
